Consistently, one of our favorite days each month is when we close the office and head out to a local non- profit to help in whatever way is needed. Our team can interact outside of the office, and we can see each other in a different setting. Each member of the team can nominate the organization that they would like us to support, so we can learn about our team members’ values. We also feel good knowing that Back Pocket Resources is committed to supporting the organizations that are working to improve our community.
It is a great opportunity for us to meet amazing people who are working to make the world a better place. We learn about a particular need in the community and about what is being done to address that need. Today, we worked at The Warde- robe, a thrift store in Central Falls that is run by the Sisters of Mercy. The Warde- robe has a dual mission: to provide working families with a clean, inviting, and inexpensive store to purchase gently used clothing and household goods, and to support the McAuley Village and McAuley House meal site with proceeds from the shop. https://www.facebook.com/The-Warde-Robe-982926558764543/
We are always interested to hear suggestions for other non profits. Who could use a few extra hands to help with their mission?
